Wohoo! Last weekend I was the proud winner of a Lapoint surfcamp in Portugal! I managed to ride the longest on a surfboard in my local resort Vassfjellet. (surfing on snow that is..:) And what a price!!!

Excited about my upcoming summer holiday!!

Life in Colorado

Life here in Colorado is pretty sweet. I'm so stoked I can ride again after my knee injury. I really feel the joy of snowboarding is coming back to me now that I'm able to jib around and ride the park! :) The park in Breckenridge has the perfect size jumps for me and with a good crew of friends I can't ask for a better start of the season.

YES, made it safe to Breckenridge after 31 hours of traveling! Lost my connection flight in Vancouver and had to stay there for the night. Anyways, all good and I'm back on snow and on my board:) Feels so good, especially when I know there is like no snow in Norway or Europe at this time. The park in Keystone is open and has a lot of fun features to play with, so check back later for some more riding shots.

First day going on, early wakeup! Just love the jetlag:) Very excited to ride again!

Snowboard Awards 2011

Each year the Norwegian snowboard federation holds a party to honor all the Norwegian snowboarders, and a lot of different high-ranked prizes are given out to worthy winners.

Everyone dresses up and get together to attend the prize giving and to celebrate our love for "sideways riding on snow" !:) I won the big title "rider of the year" in 2009, but this year I had the honor of giving out one award. Check out our night and the lucky prize winners here:

London Freeze

I went to London for a day, to catch up with the Roxy team and to check out the action at London Freeze. This is what went down:

LG FIS big air...for guys only! The Norwegian Ski-dudes did pretty well, and Ståle Sandbech got 5th on the snowboard comp. Contrats to you all, fun to watch! Michelle, me, Aimee and Lesley trying on hats...soooo 2008:)

London in the middle of October, well end of October.. anyway: Christmas decorations were already up!

Met with the UK boss Michelle at the Roxy office which has a great location opposite Top shop:) down town. Hannah, Aimee, Michelle. Michell took us out for lunch. Amazing healthy food! Thanks.

Noticed a big poster of the Quiksilver guys in town, and Aimee needed a picture with her favorite one;) This is our pitstop after I had raided the Roxy store on Regent St! Ohhhh, so much nice stuff!

It wasn't just the Quiksilver guys that got the fame, Aimee well spotted at London freeze! Looking pretty good with the mustache:) I rememberd to stay close to Aimee for the rest of the night to get some of her fame on me as well!

Hintertux has been great! Had a few down days because of snowfall, which turned the whole scenery from summer green to winter white:)

Off snow days were spent on the local gym, internet cafe and a shopping trip to Munich were we also visited Onboard Mag and Pleasure Mag.

My last riding day was SUNNY! Even got a small action shot. haha

Getting very excited about Breckenridge shred the whole Descember now.

It's so fun to finally be able to write a blog about snowboarding! It´s been so great here in Hintertux/Austria. Sun from blue sky and lots of friends up in the mountain. Good times!

My knee is still sore, but it's fun to feel the snow under my board. YEAH. Today I even span on the small jump line, that's a start isn't it??:)

After having to wait for another week I'm again ready for tomorrows surgery. Done with the extra biking, another round of cleaning the apartment and disinfecting my self with this special soap. :) No lotion, make up or nail polish on, looking damn good right now. haha. Taking pictures of my legs before and "later" after, cause I will wake up with a scar on both legs now...They are using the M. Hamstrings from my right knee as a replacement for the ACL on the left. Well, scares are cool right?!

I just realized that after my surgery, there will be no chance to go snowboarding or skiing in a while. So I put on on my fresh new Roxy outerwear and went to the local resort and did a few turns. My knee didn't like it that much, but I was really excited to feel the snow under my feet again. Can wait to start the real rehab and get so so STRONG and be able have fun on my board again.

Haven't been cross country skiing in years, and managed to get some snow under them to last week. It was great exercise and real fun until I hit the steeper slopes going down... Crossed my skies and went down hill in 0.01 km/h Not so fun, cause I love speed and going fast.
Well, its all about being outdoor and having a active lifestyle, right?

I finally received the e-mail I have been dreaming of getting for a long time. The invite for the Oakley Arctic Challenge in Oslo 2011. :)
This year the Oakley Arctic Challenge is a 6 star event for the girls and therefor an important competition in the TTR race.
I was really happy to get one of the first invites for the comp. Because of my top 4 finish on the TTR ranking last season I got an direct invite. :)
But unfortunately I wont be able to make it there.

Check back for updates regarding my rehab! As for now I'm spending a lot of time on the bike:)

My near death experience, April 2010... I know it doesn't look to scary, but for me it was definitively the closest thing to being buried in an avalanche. I got stuck under the snow and had no chance to dig my self out. Thank you Matt (photographer) and the Roxy team for quick reactions. :)

I would like to share that I was invited to the Norwegian Castle yesterday, together with all the Norwegian Olympians from Vancouver 2010. It was really nice to see the castle from the inside and finally personally get to meet the royal family. The Norwegian King and the rest of the family are very interested in sports, not only cross country skiing and jumping, but also snowboarding. He told me that he was watching the X-Games. Pretty fun! Unfortunately I couldn't take photos inside, but I can share this with you:)

Hi, Sorry! I know I haven't been blogging much lately but I didn't have any interesting facts to share with you. NOW, on the other side I do! I'm finally back on the road snowboarding. South America baby! I'm on a Roxy shoot here in Argentina. It's really beautiful here. More posh than I though it would be. Buenos Aires was first up, cruising around the city learning tango and tasting their famous steak "the lomo" and Marbec wine. I have a new favorite, that's for sure! AND I rock on TANGO dancing! Check out Buenos Aires and I will be back with pictures from Bariloche and the mountains later!

Saw the most amazing cemetery, where the graves were houses on top of the grown. It was like visiting an old city. Check it out.

Season ending in Hemsedal

First weekend of May is always the closing days for the Norwegian resort Hemsedal.
I was surprised with the snow conditions, still quite a lot of snow left and two parks open:)
Hemsedal is a bit crazy this weekend. Drunk Norwegians head up the the mountain just for tanning and partying. We even had to buy the party ticket including a concert on Saturday (when we only wanted to buy a lift pass to ride) OH no, we shouldn't have come to Hemsedal the first weekend of May if all we wanted was riding?! That's the answer we got from the ticket counter!
Seriously!?!?

Anyways. Lots of fun hiking this quarter working on hand-plants. Almost got it in the end:)

Mammoth mountain, again ready to host the Roxy chicken jam. Last comp of the season and the TTR winners are now cowned.

As always, great weather and riding in Mammoth. Course looking bigger and better this year. Wow, all the girls were charging. Sevens, fives, cab spins, switch spins...you name it!

I got 5th with fs.360 style, bs 720 indy, bs 360 tail. Stoked! I was rewarded with best trick of the day with my 720. So happy!

X-Games Tignes 2010

So the X-Games finally found its way to Europe:)..and I got an invite for pipe and slope and was way ready to shred the European alps!

Slopestyle was intense. 7 jumps, or 6 if you chose the rail instead, still a lot of things going on While I was riding practice and planning my run I suddenly came short on the first jump, tried to save my landing with the arm and ended up dislocating my elbow. Oh my God that was hurting like h...

One dislocated elbow and the X-Ray showing exactly that.

So no more Euro X, pipe or slope for me.
Since I don't have any footage from this comp I thought it was convenient to add my edit from X-Games in Aspen instead. Enjoy!
X-Games Aspen had one of the largest jumps this year 65 and 68 feet. They were really nice in the end, but for sure hard to get used to!

OLYMPICS VANCOUVER 2010

"GO LISA, GO LISA" Did we have the nicest poster or what?:

Another Olympics is over and the rest of the "normal" season can continue. It has all been a great experience and I have lots of memories to bring with me! To bad that the pipe was in real bad shape for the practice and we only got 3 hours of practice before the actual competition, but when it all happened on the 18th of February the pipe was almost perfect! Finally I could do my run and prepare as good as possible.

The atmosphere was amazing. So many people watching and cheering for us. I had my family and my boyfriend there to cheer me on. Didn't they have the best poster?:) I was feeling great and had so much fun riding the practice before the comp. I think I suddenly rode my best ever when it comes to amplitude and landing all my tricks. I was feeling ready and was coping well with the nerves! But, unfortunately I wasn't able to repeat that in the comp. Didn't go high enough so the judges gave me low scores. 0,3 points from the semi finals:(

Thanks everyone for cheering me on and wishing me all the best! Olympics is for me just another big contest of the season, and I still have so much to look forward to. X-games Europe, U.S.-Open and Chicken Jam are up next. Since I've focused on more than the Olympics I wasn't too bummed about not doing well there. There is more to come!

Woke up to a foggy COP (Calgary Olympic Park) on the day of finals. It didn't look like they were going to follow the schedule which ment my flight at 03.35 might leave without me. Anyways. Change my goggle lens and was ready for practice. It was not to bad actually, I could see the jumps but everything was a bit bright to be honest. Landed a few runs and was stoked that it all worked out. When finals started the wind picked up and Meri Peltonen overshot the second kicker badly and got taken down by the sled:( I was nervous to drop after that and landed all my jumps on the knuckle, and no grabs. Second run wasn't any better. I had to sep it up and land a clean run like I did in practice. And finally I got it together in the third and last run. Top section with the rails was ok, then the three jumps front 360 style, bs 540 indy and switch bs 360 indy. I was really happy to finally land a clean run and rode straight down to the cab that was waiting for me and head to the airport. I'm really sorry I missed out on the price-giving cause this was my first podium of the season. Anyways, really stoked to get 2nd place!!!

Ended up on 5th place in the pipe finals today. Landed my runs and stomped my hakenflip in the last run. Happy to ride in the finals though, but it was hard to see anything in the flat light. The pipe was in the shadow, so quite hard.

Moved up to 1st place on the open snowboarding ranking and
2nd place on the TTR-ranking.

Slopestyle finals is on tomorrow. Love the course!

Back with some info.

Slopestyle semifinals was on this morning. So fun course. First it starts with a snowbox to a down box, then a down-flat down rail, then a down rail, and the last job is a wallride box into three jumps. The two last has a channel gap.

It really fun to ride. So much going on! Sunny today and girls were having a great time snowboarding. I qualified 2nd and are ready for finals on Sunday.

Hi there.
A week in Aspen at the X-Games went away fast. Training morning and evening every day. So much going on, so much to watch. WOW, the ski big air and the snowboard big air was amazing. A few new world records got stomped!:) Congrats Halldor for winning the big air with 100 out of 100 points:)

I placed 8th in the slope-style. So bummed I didn't land my run i the eliminations. The course was finally treating me well and I landed my runs in practice ... Well. 6 made it through to finals and I got 8th so WHATEVER. haha.
I really liked the jumps in the end, it felt so nice to spin on huge kickers like that. Last run I landed my spins on the two first kickers and caught an edge a little to hard on the second jump which slowed me down too much to hit the last kicker:( So no time to hit the last 68 feet jump with my 720.

The fun thing of the day: I met 50 CENT. Oh yes! I'm such a groupie! haha. Check out the picture. Who has her arms around him??? :)

Sunny Aspen and a lot is going on. Pipe quals was yesterday and I was lucky enough to get a spot after Jamie pulled put. Pipe is soooo good. Perfect shape in my eyes! Didn't make finals, but still smiling. I missed some grabs and need one more flat spin in my run:) Slopestyle is on tomorrow. Course is scary. I didn't hit the last jump yet cause they are all very big and you need your speed. I have practice today again, so my goal is to get through the course once at least. Hope I like the jumps and can start spinning:) Check back later for more X-games stuff and videos from here.

I just got 4th at the Burton European Open! Im so stoked:)

I landed my run and had to step it up to get on the podium. Tried switch bs 540 of the second jump and over-rotated a bit and fell....so I ended up on 4th! No ranked 4 on TTR. Seriously this is just getting better and better. This slope-style finals was for sure one of the best ones I've ever entered. Girls and guyes are riding so sick these days. Its really inspiring to see. What will we see at the Canadien Open?!

Chicken Jam, a 6 star TTR event just finished and I'm so impressed with the riding! I got 7th place and are now on 5th place on the TTR. Girls are killing it. Cab 540, cab 720 and cab 900, fs 720,bs 720, fs 540, bs 540 and switch bs 540: just to mention some of the tricks that were stomped today! Great contest!

I just want to inform you that I manage to land on my feed, ride high and get myself to finals at the last counting FIS comp before the olympics:) Ended up on 5th place! This means that I made another girl spot for Norway for the olympics.

This doesn't mean that I have a personal spot, but of course I'm closer now than I was before! I still need to ride good this upcoming weeks before the olympics:)

First stop of the Dew Tour is now finished.

I got 7th in the pipe and 13th in slope. Stoked about the pipe! Just missed final by a few points. NEXT TIME!:)

Unfortunately they took 6 riders from prelims and not 5 as I was told...So I actually made it to semifinals in Slope without knowing it ( I got 6th in prelims). Missed practice and first run, but got to go last and do my 2nd run. First run of the day was my contest run. I was so bummed. I really wanted to ride the slope-style and that's where I feel the most confident too... Well. I just have to believe it was meant to be!:) I'll be back stronger next time...

So, first stop at the Dew Tour is now on here in Breckenridge.

I already did pipe and slope style qualifiers.

Not epic conditions today in the slope, windy and snow.... Hard to figure out the speed. Course is fun though. I managed to crash my first run, overshooting the first kicker. 2nd run was good. Spinning of both the top and the bottom jump. Which placed my on 6th.

Made it through to the semi-finals in pipe, its on tomorrow:)

Pipe is smaller than I'm used too but also fun! Excited about tomorrow!

Just a quick update to say that I'm now in Frisco Colorado. Riding in Breckenridge, Key Stone and Copper. Its great here. Getting some fresh snow at the moment:)

Grand Prix just finished. Happy with my riding, even though I didn't make finals. I put a new trick in my run which I've practiced on trampoline in Florida! Stoked to land it:) Its looking promising for the next pipe comp!

Dew tour coming up next. Starting on Wednesday. I'm excited to ride the course, just hoping that the kickers won't be as poppy as they seem right now.

Done with the pipe E-cup here in Saas Fee. Pipe was actually really good, but pure ice of course.

Landed my two runs at the quals but managed to land flat and with all my weight on the front foot after my mc-Twist in the second run. It was hurting and I was scared I did something bad to it....

I was a bit silly, but ignored the pain and tightened all my muscles and rode two more runs in the Semi-Finals. Luckily I must say.... I was 0,4 points from the final and ended up at 10th place which meant that I could ice my knee and go to the doctor instead. Was happy with my riding though. I've been focusing on airs lately and felt that I was able to relax and ride with confidence on a different level this time. I think that after more amplitude and airs, the tricks will follow.

I got a bad bone bruise and are taking it easy. I have to rest to be ready for the World-cup next week. Eating Voltaren and painkillers....Fingers crossed for my knee! (seems like I hurt one knee at each pipe comp Im entering these days:(

I'm on snow again. Feels great! Sun is shining and we got some new snow over the night.

I had so much fun jibbing around on the small jumps the first day. Had to warm up and try out some tricks before I head over to the bigger line.

This saturday the Norwegian Federation were hosting "Snowboard awards 2009" in Oslo.

The whole snowboard community were gathered for a great party.

I was nominated in the category: "female rider of the year" together with Kjersti Buuas, Linn Haug and Helene Olafsen.

All of us have had a great season and could easily be the one bringing the title back home.

Mia Hundvin and Lasse Andersen presented the price and I got the goose bumps when Lasse shouted my name out laud as the WINNER!

I was so stoked and happy to be announced as the female rider of the year. That means that people have noticed my great season and my results. I really feel supported. It really nice to be awarded with this price after the end of what I will call the best season of my carrier...so far. :) It got me really stoked and is for sure going to help me stay motivated to progress my riding throughout the next season.

Thanks to all of my sponsors that have been supportive and without them I wouldn't be able to snowboard at all! Roxy, DC, Bern, Dakine, Skullcandy.

Thanks to the Jury and people voting for me!

PREPARING THE SEASON

While I'm waiting for the snow to fall, my trampoline board is a good compensation. Im so happy that I got to know Ryan Jones in Florida last easter, he's one of the guys behind VODA -trampoline boards. He is also a good wakeboard and trampoline coach which has and still is going to help me out with my tricks before the upcoming season.

The big news: I WENT SKYDIVING!

Oh my GOD:)

It was amazing. ONE MINUTE FREE FALL:)
One minute BABY, it was one minute!

Helene, Linn, Amiee, Ben and me went together to Wanaka airport (skydive lake wanaka) and jumped off the plane from 15000 feet. The day we picked for our "ride" was perfect. Clear blue sky and sun. The New Zealand nature couldn't be more beautiful.
The feeling when I jumped off that plane...oh my god. My stomach was turning inside out. I loved it!

But I came down safe! We all did.

...and would I do it again? For sure!

New Zealand open

So, first contest of the season is over. Ended up 9.th in the Slopestyle and 11.th in the pipe here at the New Zealand Open.
I was riding with this knee:

...its still burning hot as me:) But Im going to ride the FIS world cup pipe in two days. Fingers crossed for me!
So Im actually pretty stoked with my placings. Landed my runs but had to skip some of the narliest tricks because I was afraid to fall on my knee. I know I can do better, which is a good feeling.

Another big news is coming. Stay tuned:)

I know most of you guys still have summer holiday and are enjoying the warm weather on the beach, while I’m far away from Norway at the moment. After 42 hours of travelling I’m now in Wanaka New Zealand together with the Norwegian Team. Seriously, 42 Hours! That’s what it takes to find winter again. So for me the season has started!:)

10 hours time difference is messing with my body. I’m still jet lagged but am actually trying to keep it for a bit, because it’s nice to wake up at 6 in the morning and feel fresh! It gives me plenty of time to cook my oatmeal before heading up to the pipe at 8 am.

I’m riding at Cardrona resort where they not only have one half pipe, not two either but three!!! One of them is a 22 foot pipe which is the size of the Olympic pipe. Its really nice and perfect to train in.
Slope style looks good, didn’t try anything yet cause training for the Burton New Zealand Open starts tomorrow. Hit you back with more info on that later.

Wanaka is beautiful as always, and the lake view from my bedroom window in the morning is amazing. See photo from the sunrise above.

Well, that was it for now. I don’t have internet or computer at the moment so its quite a lot of work to add photos into someone’s Mac and keep you guys updated but OF COURSE I will do it anyway!:)

EASTER in Orlando Florida:) It was really good to finish my great season with a holiday there. You can not believe how much I was looking forward to going! Sun, beach, wakeboard, boyfriend! Haha... It was all there waiting for me.
My boyfriend introduces me to Ryan which is one of the guys behind the new Voda trampoline boards. He gave me some sessions and taught me how they work . Its so much fun, and so much like doing snowboard tricks indoor. They gave me a board so that I can practise at home too. Thanks guys! I just found I new fun cross/activity that will help me improve my snowboarding!:)

I also enjoy wakeboarding. In Florida I was riding at OWC which is a cable park in Orlando. Wakeboarding is like riding the snowboard park. I improve my balance and get to work on my snowboardtricks on rails and jumps. I actually just got an Interview in WAKEBOARDING MAGAZINE about how I use wakeboarding as a great alternative sport . It just came out. Check it out!

Last day in Mammoth was hot as always. Clear blue sky and soft/slushy snow. I had fun, but couldn't wait to through my smelly boots in the board bag and head to FLORIDA. Cruising around with my boyfriend all day, trying to get some shots of me for a Wakeboard magazine. I struggled with energy loss after the rush I got last weekends awards and party, and only had boat, water, beach, wakeboard, flip-flops in my head...:) I still got some ok shots, not good enough for the Magazine, but good enough for my homepage.

I just finished two bottles of champagne! :) ihaaaa. Well, some of it got spilt on the crowd watching me get a big check today. 25 ooo USD for 2nd overall at the TTR! And another one for finishing 3rd at the Chicken Jam slopestyle here in Mammoth. Im so stoked and surprisingly happy! I never tought about the points or how I was going to finish my season. All I wanted was to be stoked on my riding and do my very best. Thats all you can do really. Its not like I would have won if someone told me I needed the points. I was just focusing on what I could preform and try to stay calm:)

Pipe was yesterday and I better mention that. I ended up 5th! I qualified to the finales on 3

rd and was so happy to land my good run. In the finals the pipe got a little to slow and slushy. Rough conditions made it hard to keep the speed and amplitude. I still got one run down which placed me on a solid 5th.

TTR titles reward. 1st Kelly Clark, 2nd ME, 3rd Jamie Anderson.

U.S. Open-09 is over and done. I ended up 2. behind Jamie Anderson who won the Open Series and cashed in 100 000 USD! She has been riding solid all season and unfortunately she got injured in the practise here so she couldn't ride. I really hope you feel better Jamie and I know that you will be back in no time continuing your awesome riding:) You definitely deserve the title.

I by the way, didnt land my backside 720 at the bottom jump and had to watch the finals from the tent. Bummer! I loved the course and the jumps and really wanted to ride the finals. Well, another contest coming up next week. Roxy Chicken Jam in Mammoth. I cant wait to ride there and through my 720 down.

Congrats Kjersti! She won the slopestyle and had a killer weekend winning her second Volvo of the season.

All in all I'm stoked on this week. Best results I ever had at the U.S. Open. Finishing 2nd overall is anyway a big step up for me:)

Pipe Semi-finals U.S.Open

Wow, all the girls really impressed me today. Girls were doing switch bs.720, cab 900, fs. 900 just to mention some of it!!! I missed the final by 1,5 points and one spot, ending up 9th. I landed my run which was fs. indy, mc twist, fs 540, bs air, fs 360 into a switch hakenflip. I was really happy to land my run twice today and even stepping it up from the firs run. Finishing 9th at the Burton U.S.Open-09 is pretty good considering that all the best female riders were present. Im so stoked...again.

Next up is slope style.
Course looks good and Im excited to ride tomorrow.

Quarterpipe finals at U.S.Open

Oh my GOD!
I just got 2nd at the Quarterpipe night session here at the U.S.Open. Im so stoked. I don't really ride quarterpipe (kind of never) but I really wanted to enter this one. I looked so much fun during the day. Luckily it was a jam session. That made me get use to the in run, speed and the strong compression on my legs going off that big thing.

In the 5 last minutes of the session I finally got some hight on my mc. twist and landed it clean. That put me straight on 2nd place and podium. Yeah Yeah Yeah. My friend Kjersti got 1st so now we are celebrating with champagne!

Last week has been great! Sunny and 14 pluss everyday. Luckily we started pipe training first in the morning when the pipe was still rideable. It got soooo slushy already at 10 AM and impossible to get any amplitude.

I was happy with my three training days and had some really good practice runs. Im now one step closer on reaching my goal for this season regarding combinations of tricks and amplitude. So I feel good considering where I am with my riding at this point. Still one year until the Olympics:) and my pipe riding has reached another level.

Today was contests day and I ended up 12th. Quite happy with that, but still didn't land my good run so I have more to show them! After this comp Im on 33rd position on the FIS list which means I jumped 14 spots today:) Still two more counting FIS cups to make a spot for Norway. But its all about being the best rider right before the Olympics.

I came to La Molina yesterday to do a FIS world cup in Pipe here. Its on this weekend and it is one of the counting contests for the Olympics. For me, its all about reaching top 30 to make a spot for Norway. So I will hit you back with more information about how the training goes and how I'm doing!

Its not much to do here in our wooden old-stylish hotel. I guess I will be here bloging most of the time!

ROXY SHOOT IN TURKEY

My Roxy team mates and I went to Turkey on a photo shoot last March. It was an amazing trip. I love that I'm able to experience different cultures when I travel around the world for snowboarding.

We had a couple of days in Istanbul and got to visit the Blue Mosk and the indoor bazaar. The people where very friendly but quite intense. It was "off season" for them and not that many tourists around, so I understood their anxious to sell us stuff. I bought a nice silver ring, silver necklace and some apple tea for my "water pipe"! It was really cheap:)

The snow conditions in Kartalkaya was amazing. It was dumping snow... too bad the resort was to "flat" to really enjoy it. We had to be creative and found a lot of fun jibs and things to ride on which gave us some nice photos for ADs.
I love bomb drops and was really happy to find a nice and high one from the hotel roof.
